A defense counsel, Randy S. Bangura from Legal Aid Board (LAB) Sierra Leone, who is representing the accused, Alpha Sesay, has asked the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Osman Mahmoud Bangura, who is also the Head of the prosecution team at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No.1, to state the legal grounds why he took over the prosecution from the substantive prosecutor, Inspector Fatmata Kuyateh, who started well in prosecuting the matter.

This happened during Monday`s proceeding at the Ross Road Magistrate Court No. 1, which is presided by Magistrate Alhaji Suliaman Koroma, in the ongoing larceny matter involving one Alpha Sesay, who was charged with the offence of larceny.

This development took place as a result of the police prosecution witness, Hawa Kamara, who was testifying before the court in respect of the matter. In the process, she told the court that she did not recognize the accused when he was led in evidence by the prosecutor, Inspector Fatmata Kuyateh.

Though the police prosecution witness started in testifying well, the presiding magistrate adjourned the matter to 21st October, 2020 and advised the Head of the prosecution to have a proper conference with his witness.
