Director Alhaji Koroma Boosts Senior Female  Cricket Team

Inspector Alhaji Koroma, Board’s Director Cricket Sierra Leone on Thursday, July 10, 2025, boosted the senior female team with bundles of pure water and assorted medicines.

Medicines which include two Deep Heat spray, Pain Master and Go Gel rubs and eight boxes of Emzor Paracetamol tablets was donated to Ladies Pariot after training at the Police field cricket oval.

Presenting the items, Director Koroma the donation is a way of motivating the players to train hard and get fit for forthcoming ICC World Cup division two tournaments in Botswana.

He who impressed with the ladies performances during trainings also boosted the ladies with a little bit of token, advising them to take their trainings serious as they have less than a week for the tournament.

The Chairman of Wanderers Cricket Club, which consist of male and female teams expressed optimism ahead of the tournament.

Sierra Leone was placed in group B alongside host Botswana, Mozambique and Eswatini, while group A consist of Rwanda, Cameroun, Lesotho and Malawi.

Two teams from each group will eventually qualify to the semi-final and both finalists will automatically qualify for the division1 tournament in Namibia.

The winner and the runner-up from the division 2 will join Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Namibia. The division1 qualifier will start on the 28th August – 7th September 2025.

Receiving the items, Aminata Kamara, the captain thanked the Director for his goodwill gesture to the team, noting that the donation was timely especially when they are embarking on rigorous training.

Aminata appealed to business houses, philanthropists and individuals to come on board to support the team so that they will represent Sierra Leone adequately in Botwana.
