As part of their commitment to contribute towards the development of not only football but also other sporting disciples, Football for a New Tomorrow Sierra Leone (FANT-SLE) on Thursday October 14th 2020 presented 60 match balls to the Sierra Leone Handball Association (SLHA).
Presenting the 60 balls, to the Sierra Leone Handball Association at FANT-SLE’s 10 Percival Street office, the Project Manager, Mamadu Bah, said his Association is always committed towards the development of not only football but also other sporting disciples, of which Handball is not an exception, taking into consideration they are also having Handball clubs in some of their operational communities.
He further noted that they decided to boost the Handball Association with the 60 balls in order for them to distribute balls to the various clubs across the country.
“This is not the first time we are giving sporting equipment to Associations and it will not be the last. We will remain committed to assist the Handball Association in the future,” Bah assured.
Receiving the balls, on behalf of his Association, SLHA’s Secretary General, Anabi Yusuf Kamara, thanked FANT for such a wonderful gesture and promised that the balls will be distributed to all the clubs across the country.
According to him, they are looking forward to partner with FANT to develop the sport in the country.
“It’s a pleasure to receive these balls on behalf of the Handball Association. I want to thank you for such a wonderful gesture. Let me assure you that these balls will be distributed to all our clubs not only in Freetown but also to those in the provinces. On behalf of the Handball Association, I want express my sincere thanks and appreciation. We are looking forward to partner with you to develop the sport in the country,” he stated.
In his brief statement, FANT-SLE’s Administrative Secretary, Mohamed Corgay, said his Association has been working with the Handball Association and that they are part of the Handball fraternity. He pledged his Association’s continuous support toward the development of the Association.
