Living World Bible Church Named In Land Grabbing

Must read

By Musa Paul Feika

Living World Bible Church and its overseer, Pastor Paul Bangura, have been dragged to court by Madam Smith (complainant) for allegedly and clandestinely grabbing a portion of a land at Portee Junction in Freetown, which she willingly and voluntarily gave to the church and its overseer for a stipulated time.

According to Madam Smith, notices have been served on the complainant on two occasions in order to vacate the land. But she said the accused has been reluctant.

During cross examination, by the defence counsel, K.R. Sawanneh, he asked the complainant about who is currently occupying the land.

“The Living World Bible Church,” Madam Smith replied.

He put it to the complainant that the notice, served on the church, dated 26th November, 2020, to quit, was directly addressed to Pastor Paul Bangura and not the Living Bible World Church.

The witness answered in the affirmative. Lawyer Sawanneh asked the complainant whether the accused, at any pointing in time, paid rent to her. In reply, she said no.

He put it to Madam Smith that the Living World Bible Church was given an unfinished building, which was completed by the church. The complainant responded in the affirmative.

Lawyer Sawanneh put it again to the complainant that, before the construction of the Living World Bible Church on the land, she gave her consent and approval of the construction. In response, she said yes.

The accused has been placed on bail and the matter was adjourned to 17th May, 2021.
