Information filtering into this medium has it that Alagbas (Heads) of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) are worried owing to the fact that both His Excellency, Julius Maada Bio, and his newly appointed Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Lawyer Charles Francis Margai, are both no-nonsense individuals when it comes to implementing the law to the latter.
Following allegations of poor management of donor funds for which key donors have threatened to pull out, coupled with the ongoing work of the Presidential Transition Committee, this has also put them into further worries as there are many loopholes in their accounting books that are bound to raise eyebrows over the way and manner past and present heads of the Commission under the former APC government have poorly managed and embezzled funds of the said institution established by the Tejan Kabba government to champion post conflict recovery, rural development and humanitarian assistance of the decade long civil war.
Another task that is found to be very daunting is how to approach the Transitional Team and use the brown envelop system of politicking for the transitional team not to let all the cats out of the Commission bag.
But based on the track records of the members that constitute the transitional team, heads of NaCSA have decided to have a rethink.
Inside source have intimated that, heads of NaCSA will have little or no excuse as the Commission has and continues to be financed through grants and concessional loans from the World Bank, Islamic Development Bank, German Development Bank, Africa Development Bank, United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), Economic Community of West Africa States (ECOWAS) and the Government of Sierra Leone.
Based on the financial atrocities, the heads of the said institution are disturbed for their matter not to be transferred to the country’s Anti Corruption Commission for onward investigations and prosecution.
Liberian refugees, that should have benefited from UNHCR resettlement project and the Sierra Leone War Victims that are supposed to have also benefited from the war victims Funds, have whispered to this medium that they (Liberian Refugees/War Victims) have documents to help President Bio’s government in an event they deem it fit to bring the Commission to book for poor management of donor and country’s funds.
