NSA Engages Sporting Associations Today

Must read

The Management of the National Sports Authority (NSA) will today, Monday September 14th 2020, engage Presidents and Secretaries of the various sporting Associations in a conference at the Siaka Stevens Stadium Atlantic Hall in Freetown.
According to the NSA’s Head of Media and Communication, Eric Fomba, the rationale behind the conference is to do a power point presentation on the findings on all the application forms received by the Authority.
“Presidents and Secretaries of NSOs are kindly encouraged to attend this very important conference. We are expecting everyone to be there before the arrival of the Minister of Sports and the Executive Director of the NSA,” he said.
Fomba also confirmed to Night Watch Sports that the NSA and the Sport Ministry held a meeting with NACOVERC regarding the easing of the restriction on the ban on sporting activities. “We’ve held a fruitful meeting with the NACOVER’s boss. He told us that governance is based on consultation, and he will forward the request to the appropriate authorities, after that he will get on to us,” he stated.
“We are aware that CAF has eased the ban on football and Match Days 3 and 4 of the 2021 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers will commence in November. In fact, other countries that we have to compete with are now training ahead of the competitions,” the NSA Spokesman continued, adding that, “Also other sporting disciplines are training for the Tokyo Olympic Games and other sporting activities around the world. But, as far as we are concerned, we are still waiting for NACOVERC to get on to us. Then we shall communicate the outcome to the press and the general public.”
