Sierra Leone FA president, Isha Johansen, has been elected as one of the Confederation of African Football executive members to FIFA’s powerful decision making body.

Johansen, who was the first woman to serve on FIFA’s Security and Integrity Committee, collected 28 votes, surpassing Burundi’s Lydia Nsekera with four votes during the 43rd CAF General Assembly meeting on March 12th, 2021, in Rabat, Morocco.

She will serve a four-year term in the FIFA Council.

The final composition of the FIFA Council will consist of 37 members: one President, elected by the FIFA Congress; eight vice presidents, and 28 other members elected by the member Associations – each for a term of four years.

In another development, the Sierra Leone Football Association has confirmed that the SLFA President, Isha Johansen, and the Zambian Football Federation (FAZ) President, Andrew Kamanga, have agreed on a friendly match to be hosted by the Zambian FA at the National Heroes Stadium on Monday the 22nd March 2021.

The proposed ‘closed door international friendly’ is part of Leone Stars’ preparation ahead of Sierra Leone’s penultimate match in the ongoing AFCON Qualifiers against Lesotho.

Meanwhile, the General Secretaries of the two federations, Christopher Kamara (SLFA) and Adrian Kashala (FAZ) are currently engaged in talks to ensure proper management of the said friendly match.
