Two Remanded On Alleged House Breaking & Larceny

Fifty-one-year-old Joseph Kpana, a driver, and seventeen-year-old Adams Bayoh, a security officer, made their first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on alleged house breaking and larceny.

They were before the court on two-count charges of conspiracy, contrary to law and house breaking and larceny contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Saturday, 14th February, 2026, at #3 Grace Land, off Peninsular Road, Goderich in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused persons allegedly conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a felony, to wit, house breaking and larceny.

Count two further stated that on the same date and place, the second defendant, with intent to steal, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Otolorin Williams and stole therein one Microsoft Surface Pro 11 laptop computer and other assorted items, all to the total value of two hundred and fifty-nine thousand four hundred and seventy-eight Leones (Le259,478), property of Otolorin Williams.

When the charges were read and explained, the defendants pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor, Chief Superintendent of Police Tommy B. Zizer Esq., informed the bench that the defendants had been served with a bundle of witness statements.

Magistrate Jah refused bail and remanded both defendants to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 16th April 2026.
